Speed run- making animated model in Cryengine in 1 1/2 hours

Firstly did a sketch of what i could see from my desk, and scanned into comp as a tiff.
Went into photoshop file and saved sketch as a JPEG file.

Next i created my sketch into sketchup, added my texture and adjusted scale

I made all parts of my model components
I changed play up preferences in sketch up and created a new level in Cryengine and exported my sketch up model to cryengine, applied my textures to surfaces in CE

Multiplied this model many times

Played with scale, rotation and position, layering model

I added lights and animated some of the panels to move along the x axes.

Refined model in cryengine

I remade my model so that it can be walked on- added lights and elements that now move and have attempted to make it more inviting

Model in CryENGINE3

Three favorite views chosen

Design ideas and intentions
Ways that I can refine my model. I think my model is not dense enough, there is too much surrounding space which makes my model feel like an object rather than an environment you can explore, so I want to develop my model so that it has more logic and path to follow, to give the viewer a reason or interest to explore the environment further. I want to cut back my model and refine the original by perhaps extending surfaces, including ramps, and paths which can be explored, with platforms that allow you to look back on the environment as a whole. I want to include elevators to help move the viewer around, maybe animate some 'gems'. Bring the model to ground level, take out the water so that you can walk under and around parts of the model such as the 'gems' and are not restricted only to the paths and ramps above the water. I want to play more with texture and bring more detail to specific parts of my model to give interest and depth. create more depth through use of light and shadow, and giving the model foreground, mid-ground and back-ground.

Continued development

My model would not copy properly into CryENGINE3, so I remade my model and added a new texture that I found:

This model does work in CryENGINE3 now, but am still having problems with the textures

Developments

I chose my favorite concept- multiplied, added colour:

Developed further by adding my Asymmetry model

Project 2 - Inhabiting form and space

Chosen model to develop:

MyContrast model:
I chose this model as believed it to be one of the more interesting models, where it already feels as one you can inhabit, I wish to play with it more and further push what it can achieve with developing this space and form.

These images below have been given a wider zoom angle of 100 and have played with shadows, exploring different views.
